Yes, I Finally Went to a TS Concert!

And it was magical, literally and figuratively. It was last Friday, May 26, 2023 at Metlife Stadium I got to see my favorite songwriter for the first time perform live. The crowd, wow. I have nothing else I can say about the crowd. My ears were ringing from the loudest screaming I’ve ever heard in my life. The screaming was so loud that the music was lower! Now I know what it’s like to be in a crowd like TS’ cult, The Swifties. It was electric to say the least.

I sat front and center, pretty much right there, and I just soaked it all in. I tried not to film or photograph too much of it, because I wanted to just be present, be there, at that moment to enjoy all of the senses and realize that she’s performing right in front of me. I remembered a long time ago, when I was a teen, my first ever live concert, I think it was Vivian Chow in Atlantic City with my mom. I was flabbergasted at the fact that my idol was in the same room as me. Now fast forward 30 years, at the TS concert, I felt the same awe inspired phenomenon of being a human along with another human that’s changing the world. She’s so big, but also the same of me, a human. But with her talent, her gifts, her determination, her hardwork, her laser focus on taking over the world as a songwriter, that’s why she’s up there.

During her performance of “Margorie” a song on her “Evermore” album about her grandma who passed away when she was 13, and was also a singer, I felt the presence of my grandmothers too, that feeling of missing them, and the feeling of their presence in my life always, it made my cry. Maybe it was the micro-dosing on magic mushrooms or the sheer volume of all my senses, it felt huge, like I’m in outer space, with all the stars around me, with everyone’s phone lights on in the dark. That was an unforgettable moment.

We all danced and sang for 3 1/2 hours straight, it was the best time I’ve ever had at a concert to date! Thank you, Taylor for doing what you do, being who you are, and sharing your gifts with the world. I hope you understand how much we all appreciate your talent.
